Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 June 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how SmartZonesIndicators ("we", "our", or "the Publisher") collects, uses, stores and protects the information of users of the Liano mobile app and the website https://liano.web.app (together, "the Services").
We are committed to protecting our users' privacy in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR.
Liano handles information that is sensitive by nature — family organisation between two parents. This policy is deliberately short and accurate: it describes what the app actually does, nothing more.
2. Data controller
The controller of your personal data is:
- Name: SmartZonesIndicators
- Email: support@smart-zones-indicators.com
3. Data we collect
3.1 Account data
- Sign-in identity: your email address if you create an account with email and password; or the identifier provided by Apple or Google if you use "Sign in with Apple / Google". The Publisher never has access to your readable password.
3.2 Data you enter
- First names: the first names of the parents and children, as you enter them. We never ask for surnames.
- Coordination content: messages and coordination requests (custody exchanges, late notices, info, activities), with timestamps.
- Custody schedule: the custody rhythm you declare.
- Child details: optional information you choose to add about a child (for example a contact or a practical note).
- Shared documents: files you choose to attach (for example a court order or a school report), stored to be shared with the other parent.
3.3 Data collected automatically
- Notifications: your device's push notification token and its language, so we can send notifications in the right language.
- Technical identifier: an account identifier created by Firebase Authentication, linking your data to your account.
We collect nothing else. No postal address, no phone number, no location, no advertising, no trackers, no behavioural analytics.
4. Visibility between parents
Messages and decisions shared within a co-parenting space are visible to both parents of that space: this is the very point of the service. Notes you write before the other parent joins remain private.
5. Purposes of processing
We use your data for the following purposes:
- Providing the service: enabling coordination between co-parents (custody exchanges, late notices, info, activities, a calendar derived from accepted decisions).
- Synchronisation: syncing the co-parenting space across both parents' devices.
- Notifications: notifying you of events in your space (new request, response, reminder).
No other purpose: no profiling, no marketing, no advertising.
6. Legal basis
All of this processing is based on the performance of a contract: it is necessary to provide the service you requested by using the app.
7. Data sharing
We do not sell any data. The app contains no advertising and no advertising trackers. No data is shared with third parties, except the technical processors that are strictly necessary:
- Google Firebase: Authentication (accounts), Cloud Firestore (database), Cloud Functions (server processing), Cloud Storage (shared documents), Cloud Messaging (notifications) and App Check (security). Your data is hosted in the European Union (region europe-west1, Belgium).
- Apple / Google: only if you choose "Sign in with Apple / Google", to authenticate your account.
- RevenueCat: technical management of subscriptions, premium access rights and operational subscription metrics, based on purchase information provided by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not send RevenueCat any payment-card data.
Payment: any purchases are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never see or store any payment-card data.
8. Data retention & deletion
Your data is kept for the lifetime of your co-parenting space.
You can delete your account directly in the app (Account → Delete my account): in solo mode, the space and its content are erased entirely; in shared mode, only your personal data is removed, while the other parent keeps the shared history. You may also write to us at support@smart-zones-indicators.com.
9. Your rights
Under the GDPR / UK GDPR, you have the following rights:
- Access: obtain a copy of your personal data.
- Rectification: correct inaccurate data.
- Erasure: request deletion of your data.
- Portability: receive your data in a structured format. The built-in PDF export covers the portability of your timeline.
- Objection: object to certain processing.
To exercise these rights, contact us at support@smart-zones-indicators.com. We aim to respond within one month.
You may also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk); in the EU, your national authority. Users outside the EU/UK have the rights granted by their local laws and may contact us at the address above.
10. Data security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect your data:
- Encryption of data in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
- Encryption of data at rest on the Firebase infrastructure
- Strict access rules: only the two parents of a space can read that space's data
No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.
11. Push notifications
Push notifications are only enabled if you grant the system permission. You can disable them at any time in your device settings.
12. Minors
The app is intended for parents, i.e. adults. There is no child account. The children's first names that appear in the app are entered by the parents, under their responsibility.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. Changes will be published on this page with a new update date. In case of a substantial change, we will inform you within the app.
